Hey Bottom Holders: I’m going thru the Course a second time (1st time was during Covid), and I find the upgraded version vastly improved. Josh actually used a bass with fret markers this time!! My playing has gotten so much better. I just played the Fast Workout of “London Calling”, and at 77 I’m stoked. Josh inspired me to go & learn the whole song on YouTube. Note to Everyone: You can become a real bass player with this Course. Just stick with it! Cheers from the Left Coast.
Great testimony and I’m fully with you !
My plan would be to do it a 2nd time but with a pick to develop new skills
Maybe this summer (but my kids got me into slap… so I’ll have to prioritize ;-). )
Howdy. Oddly enough, I used a pick, which I rarely do, yesterday when I was learning the song from a YT lesson. Josh really hit a home run with the revamped Course. P.S. I skipped the “Slap” module 1st time thru. Maybe I’ll give it another shot this time. Best of luck “slappin’ da bass, Mon”.
Its interesting that you’re coming back to it after years. There’s me thinking that I’ll probably go through it all again in a months time when iv’e finished it.
I’m definitely learning some new things, and increasing my skill level. P.S.
I didn’t start learning bass until after I retired
When i finished the course back in March, I expected to start back through it a couple weeks later. The revamp came a few days after I finished, so that would have been even more incentive to go back through it.
Four months later and I still haven’t gone back through it because I have been learning songs. But redoing the course is still on my to-do list.
I came back because I wanted to work on a few things. I then slowly figured out that Josh had redone the Course. Even though I’m advanced enough to where I can jam with others somewhat, I still went back to almost the beginning, and found useful info. Glad that I stumbled onto this.
