3D printed bass thingys

I just got my bass, and wanted to hang it next to my guitars in my hercules stand. Sadly due to being headless and on top it being multi-scale there was no easy solution, so I spend an evening designing one.

Any of you folks made some very specific prints to solve niche problems?

I would not trust the 3D printed with the weight of your Boden bass. It cracks. I print stuffs to use all the time but durability is not its strong point, and that sharp filament will scratch up your neck too. I use just the regular hanger and it fits just fine.

I also wouldnt touch wood with hard plastic, so I used the TPU rubber with 95A hardness and 4 walls.
The headless neck of a strandberg multi scale bass doesn’t fits into any normal hanger. Or if you wrap something around the grips it only sits on one side. That looked to me like it wasn’t enough wood holding it up and I feared damage over time, so I made this thing to support it all around.

Very cool! My EHB lives in it’s bag for that exact same reason. Going to have to check if someone made something similar for it.

I have 3D printed headphone holders on the wall and a cupholder for the stand - so not really problems but still fun =)

is yours multi scale too? I think the one in this thread isn’t and can apparently hang fine when using the adapter rubbers that came with my stand

It is! I have the 1005sms. Thanks for the link - I’ll do some digging to see if there is something like that for my existing wall hangers (got them before I knew Hercules made some) =)

I think the “head” of the ehb basses seems to stick out twice as much, so you have more wood to work with, so your might be fine with being only supported on one side.
I couldn’t find anything like a similar adapter on makerworld or onshape for ehb, didnt look further into it.

I hung my skinny NX6 and had no problem, I tilted the hanger a bit to catch properly. All survived a couple of earthquakes here in SoCal. You can get the sideway wall mount.

I don’t remember if I ever put it on my Hercules rack but I know for sure my EHB doesn’t really fit snuggly on the Hercules very well.

This is a little like find waldo. it was like this and nothing got damaged during an earthquake? the nx6 is multiscale, but its head’s protrusions are the same height? Atleast when I look at the current models of stransberg. I have my boden essitial similar mounted on a tri hercules stand with some thing to widen the radius of the grips. I use the ukulele version of the hercules stand when placing it into my bedroom. that one just barely long enough, so the guitar doesn’t touch the ground, but doesn’t need any modification at all.

That’s a nice Bongo next to your Strandberg. Are those the stock pickups? I don’t remember a MM/single-coil Bongo.

Yes, also Piezo. It’s the best pickup config in my opinion. HS. The neck is just warm enough to compliment the MM. I have a few in that Config.

The Piezo is kinda gimmicky until the one time you do the Unplugged cover and turn it up and Bam!! instant acoustic tone, worth every penny.

My solution to the problem of hanging a headless bass (Ibanez EHB1000S) on a wall mounted hanger is simple. I just hook the strap over one of the hanger arms.

The bass isn’t going anywhere unless the strap itself breaks, or the Schaller Strap Locks either fail, or part company with the instrument.
