A Brief History of Yamaha Basses

Cool overview by Yamaha covering a few that I have owned, one @John_E owns, and at least two that @Al1885 owns

Didn’t get them all but is a good overview.

This is a good article expanding on the Flying Samurais as well:

I love that the thumbnail of both of them is a '60s SB. Go Samurai!

Interesting that they didn’t spend too much time on the BB2000 or 2024x, widely considered top tier models.

I’m pretty much obsessed with finding the double P now as yet another Japanese unicorn bass I want. That and the Koa Aerodyne are all I want now.

Sweet! I’m sure a J2 will turn up at some point.

Wow that’s awesome. I like the bb3000 and the bex 4. That looks great. Thanks @howard

Thanks for posting this! It’s very interesting to me because I accidentally ended up only ever playing Yamaha’s. I’ll add this list here, for the lesser known and more entry-level Yamaha basses:

I’ve tried a lot of brands but keep coming back to Yamaha. And I have now sold back down to only Yamahas again

RBX’s are great instruments!

I’ll put a heart on a Jerk comment anywhere, anytime.
