Are we talking gold plated jacks or the whole cable being gold plated? Because gold plating low voltage contacts is actually an industry practice.

Works as an audience member too! My local club has some great local bands on, but the main acts don’t start until 10.30, so I struggle with the idea of staying up past bedtime :face_with_spiral_eyes:

That looks like an overly long Ninjatō, not a Katana. Just saying

Ah. So that’s what the filename means. Good eye! I just saw the “Katanas for sale” text.

(@Whying_Dutchman - are you familiar with swords? Asking because I inherited a Japanese sword, along with a rifle and bayonet, from my father who brought these items back as a souvenir… he was on Guadalcanal and Papua New Guinea in the Solomon Islands during WWII.
There is a story about requiring to file off the Chrysanthemum from the rifle as part of the peace terms. I do not know if the sword has that icon on it or not. I have been off and on trying to find more info on these items.
Your response above seemed to imply some knowledge on swords, wondering if you might be able to assist?)

I do know some about Katanas, but more in the sense of using them as Iaidoko and appreciating the forgery of the original Japanese masters (in contrast to the chinese trash you can get everywhere).

As far as I know though, there were two types of swords to be had after WW2, cause all japanese swords needed to be destroyed due to a US declaration: the mass produced swords which were given to the army (for banzai attacks etc.) … but also the historic swords that were in former Samurai families for a long time (sometimes centuries) and were part of their heritage and soul.
Those are real pieces of art and their destruction saddens me!

Can you send me pictures of the sword, privately? If you have inherited it, I would never give that away. It is your family sword now.
Don’t sell it!

Have you seen this:
