I doubt the story on having to file off the Chrysanthemum as part of a peace treaty; the Chysanthemum is the symbol of the Emperor and when captured soldiers would remove it to preserve his honor. It may have been in a treaty, but it was standard practice
The rifle is collectable.
The katana could be depending on how it was manufactured, and the stamp on the tang under the handle. Which I am not an expert to say, other than knowing where to look.
