I’ve seen my share of cracked acoustic guitars in my career, but this…
Our Cult, in the middle of the swamp.
Our Cult, is a very, very, very nice Cult!
Guide to care of Shoggoths:
Interesting fact, the inventor of BeatBuddy is literally one of the arms dealers that the movie War Dogs was based off of.
“Fraudulent defense contractor- that’s just to fund my gigging”

I can’t tell you their initials, but it starts with a ‘C’
My uncle worked with them in the late 60’s; they’re not very nice.
Now we are in the dog days of summer (this side of the equator) the 4th of July has come and gone and the days are getting shorter I would like to make sure that every one is aware that there are only 170 shopping days left till Christmas!
Your excuse is invalid…
Urgh! I did not need to know this, but oh well, I will start my shopping early I guess![]()
I think I just bought my Chrissie Pressie. Not a Pacifica guitar and I even told the wife
I am an architect and specification writer by profession and am easily triggered…
…towards anything music.
On our staff meeting today we were discussing potential projects and how certain building typologies are getting repurposed. Old coal power plants are not being used as they were decades ago and their locations are prompting a lot of urban planning and re-visioning for new uses.
A colleague showed an image of one such (before) location (as well as the new vision.) Sure, the new potential looked really neat… but it was the existing condition that triggered me… especially power plants with smoke stacks.
I would have shared my “trigger” with my colleagues on the meeting, but most being much younger than me would not understand… I share it with you:
Everyone liked the stacks so much, that the zoning permit required that they keep them when the building was renovated.

The Jorgenson Steam Plant (other side of the water, and not pictured) was used as a venue for concerts after it was no longer used for it’s origional purpose.
The inflatable pigs were just one of the highlights of the Animals tour. So was the tab of windowpane. ![]()
The pigs came back on later tours too. Roger owned the copyright on the pigs so when he left he wouldn’t allow the band to fly them, so David added balls on them to make them different and later they became more like warthogs to appease Roger. But they were a staple.
The pettiness between Roger and David was a staple too
Wow, 4way. ALL THE WAY
Yup.
Here’s my car from that time, a six window Caddy Sedan de Ville. I took 4 friends from Madison with me to County Stadium in Milwaukee for the concert. After the show, we all made it back to the car, still tripping our balls off. There was a rap-rap-rap on the window. A security guard. He asked whose car it was. I said “mine”. I was in the middle of the back seat, sitting between two friends. There were two more in front, but nobody behind the wheel. The guard told use that we had to leave, since we were the last car in the parking lot. I drove us back to Madison. I have no memory of the drive back, but I’m still here, so we must have arrived safely. ![]()
Maaaannnn! I also have stories like that, but as I became old and wise recently, I’m quite ashamed of those, so I won’t post it here.
Yes, it was all sex, drugs and rock’n roll (often all happening at the same time) - but now I see how stupid I was and how much danger I put myself and others in…
That said: I am truly a bad person and admit to having giggled at some of those memories, so thank you very much ![]()
But remember:
I did that on a motorbike one time back in the ‘70s (not intentional but the sequence is a big TLDR). The only thing I really remember is being crouched over the tank teeth gritted as I tore down the road at the speed of light…..and then looking at the speedo which read a glorious 20mph! ![]()
