“I think everything that I’ve ever played has somehow trickled down from Gene Krupa” Bill Ward
I failed to mention Yes. Yeah, some serious holy shits were exclaimed when those guys made the scene.
Yes, Kansas, Pink Floyd, and Tull were favorite bands of mine at the time.
Gene Krupa was one badass mofo.
It’s not just 70s stuff. One of my favorite bands is pinback. Almost nobody Seems to like them. But i think they are amazing.
Then again, my musical tastes are so all over the map that nobody wants to Listen when i play music in random from my devices. Because a segue from Fleetwood mac to static-x doesn’t appeal to most people.
But i was never must people. I’ll listen to joy division or pink or men at work. If it makes me nod my head and tap my foot a little, I’m good with it.
Who claims reel big fish is one their favourite bands and has 2 thumbs that don’t work right? This guy.
( points thumbs at self proudly…)
Yeah, same here, my musical tastes are all over the map - there’s just also stuff I definitely dislike from that era as well as stuff I still listen to all the time
I know exactly what you mean. My Playlist is just as likely to jump from Sabaton to Taylor Swift as it is from Flogging Molly to Steely Dan, and then on to Ludacris.
I tend to gravitate more towards individual songs I like rather than artists or bands. Except Foo Fighters. Love me some Foo Fighters.
And here’s a Foo Fighters meme, cause why not?
LOL yeah that will work
Oh, the Fighters of Foo! I was fortunate enough to see them in a small venue, The Black Cat, Washington DC, back in 1995, @Amalgamus . Shudder to Think opened for them, and at the end of the show, Craig Wedren, the StT lead singer, came out and sang Lovin’ Touchin’ Squeezin’ with the Foo. (by the time I saw them in August, they had the song might tighter
)
This video is from a show in Toronto, but it captures the band perfectly at the time. Dave Grohl has evolved into so much more than just “the drummer for Nirvana” but this is how I always think of him first, especially from 2:05-2:35, goofing with Pat Smear. So good.
Ah, some Reggae:
One o’ dese t’ings
Is not like dee otter
Or some Irish folk
Faith and begorrah…bingo!
So very true.
