A little music related fun

Singing a song as a response, wow! I do that at times, but just with my family at home. Sometimes it is snatches from old songs, sometimes it’s from old commercials. Odd what sticks in the brain! I’m not one that can recall all the lyrics of a song flawlessly (like one of my sons, and one of my sisters). But I just sing, in my awful off-key voice, the pertinent part of the lyric. :singer:

My mom, daughter, and I definitely do this a lot (Ella has learned about RickRolling and has great fun with it). Some musically-inclined friends do this with me, too. It’s a favorite communication method, now that I think about it.

Oh, is that a thing worth mentioning?… That’s literally my default setting.

I’m a huge fan of musicals… Watched „Joseph“ live two times back in the days… And still have to grab onto something, when someone calls the little guy with name Benjamin, whenever I pick up my son from Kindergarten…

Can’t scare that poor, little fella, just because his name triggers a singing response of the lyrics:

Benjamin, you nasty youth,
Your crime has shocked me to the core
Never in my whole career
Hav I encontered this before
Guards, seize him! Lock him in a cell
Throw the key into the Nile as well

It is indeed! Too bad there wasn’t much footage of the bassist, but I guess that is typical.

Edited to add: Wikipedia tells me the bassist was George Porter, Jr., and says this about him:

Porter has his own group the Runnin’ Pardners, and also other projects such as The Trio with Johnny Vidacovich, New Orleans Social Club, Deep Fried, and Porter Batiste Stoltz. He has been performing and recording with wide range of artists including Soul Rebels Brass Band, Dr. John, Paul McCartney, Robbie Robertson, Willy DeVille, Robert Palmer, Patti LaBelle, Jimmy Buffett, David Byrne, Johnny Adams, Harry Connick Jr., Earl King, Warren Haynes, Tori Amos, and Snooks Eaglin among many others.

Porter joined John Scofield’s Piety Street Band in 2008 to tour and to record. Jon Cleary and Ricky Fataar are also members of this band. In 2010, he replaced Reed Mathis in Bill Kreutzmann’s newest band, 7 Walkers.[2] Also in 2010 he performed with Runnin’ Pardner at New Orleans’ Voodoo Experience.
