That’s me in the background, tip-toeing as fast and as far away as possible.
But, then again, I’ve never claimed to be into all types of music.
The Tragically Hip’s Gord Sinclair

I keep on seeing this on fb and didn’t know where else to post it
is this a Canadian version of the thin blue line thing?
Now I get it. But I’m not involved because I’m originally not from Germany. My roots are Romanian and we don’t steal bike especially from Dutch people. (We steal them from all nations )
State of Origin says “hold my beer”
That explains the moustache
I like your attitude! It shows tolerance and independence of any prejudice! Everybody is treated the same - a recipe for world peace ^^
News article:
To file under the fantasy music collaborations category, Billy Joel has been toying with the idea of joining forces with some contemporary music greats.
“I thought about putting together a band,” Joel retorted. “Me, Don Henley and Sting, and maybe John Mayer on guitar.”
That roster would surely be a worthy update to the Traveling Wilburys, which was a supergroup team-up between the late Tom Petty, Roy Orbison and George Harrison, along with Jeff Lynne and Bob Dylan.
When Howard Stern asked why Joel’s supergroup hasn’t become a reality yet, the five-time Grammy-winner chalked it up to, “Well, everybody’s busy.”
“You always say to the other guys, ‘Yeah, I’ll see you on the road and we’ll get together,’ and you never do it,” he added.
Joel also said he talks to Paul McCartney “a lot,” but added that he doesn’t “have the nerve” to ask the former Beatle to band up.
“I can’t. He was in the superest group of all,” he explained.
Joel humored Stern while he continued to fantasize about who would be in the supergroup, and said, “Ringo would be good. Ringo is a great drummer. He doesn’t get the credit he deserves.”
I’d like to see the “where has it been” part, and wonder if it was truly unknown about what they had or not.
I’m impressed they actually found it.
AC/DC on a hurdy gurdy rocks. Eluvitie also rock, but this is less expected.
Totally unrelated I just learned you can get a hurdy gurdy kit for only 340 euros that seems well reviewed. NG Linotte kit – Nerdy Gurdy
A funny song from Messe, a canadian band. The lyrics (in french) are quite funny and interesting.
ChatGPT translation of the lyrics :
I’d set fire to everything around me
See if ashes would grow flowers
If everything I hate would leave me alone
And if the flames would give me hope
If the smoke would reach God
And if He would answer me
Once and for all
For real
I’ve had enough of waiting for time to do things right
I think it’s high time I took control
I’d go to the convenience store, buy a lighter and some smokes
Fill my jerry cans with gas to start anew
I’d set fire
If gas cost less
I’d set fire
If gas cost less
I’d set fire if I had more money and a high-paying job
If I had more time, more ambitions, and house insurance
If groceries were bought, the car in my name, and the cable paid for
If I had plenty of gas and I wasn’t a damn coward
I’d set fire to all my hangovers
Even if I could just stop drinking
I’d set fire to my lack of sleep
Even if I could just go to bed a little earlier
I’d set fire to all my false beliefs
Even if I could just take the time to change them
I’d set fire even if I feel
That I could just do a little better
I’d set fire
If gas cost less
I’ll set fire
When gas costs less
I am not necessarily a RHCP fan but I do like this version as I am a Beach Boys fan. Perhaps I need to expand my musical appreciation more?
I agree. I’m not a Peppers fan either, but I was pleasantly surprised to run across this sincere homage. From some latter-day California dudes to past California legends.
