So I found an old guitar chord book and some tab printouts, figured y’all would appreciate what the internet used to look like when it was good…

We used to have 4 cats. That was a lot more work than two.

We actually had four because our two were getting up in years and so we started the “replacement plan” by getting two more. Well, then it was another seven years before four became three and then two.

@Al1885 Legit? or No?

:rofl: :rofl: :rofl: :rofl:

Haha yes, the amount of attention they need grows exponentially with the number of cats you have ( or do they have you… :grin: )
But…totally worth it!

I thought this was going to be just silly but it’s actually not bad advice for getting a basic post punk bass sound.

Agree with most of that except the EQ (which is the opposite of about half of post-punk, which biases towards mids and treble; i.e. all of Hooky’s work and the bands he inspired).

Very true for sort of the trinity of Hooky, David J, and Simon Gallup. I think the EQ thing becomes more relevant once you get past them and in to the 80s then the 90s. The tone the guy gets in the video is pretty spot on for generic darkwave band (insert band here).

I think even Gallup started to boost lows after Disintegration if I’m not mistaken.

Yeah it’s interesting, and then sometimes you get bands that do both, like Hoffen :slight_smile:

(really like those guys)
