That’s Nyango Star. The undead cat/apple hybrid.
In Japan mascots are common, and Nyango comes from a region known for its apples. Or Ringo as they say in Japanese.
Nyan is how cat’s meow in Japanese. Nyango Star is a play on apples, cats, and Ringo Starr.
He’s the spirit of a cat reborn in an apple. Just roll with it.
Nyango has a theater in town for tourists, and in a time when the economies in rural areas is tanking, Nyango is keeping his area prosperous.
