Send her back for schoolin
Weird yet I watched it to the end @John_E
Well, ya gotta know what she does
Apparently we are in a Wednesday Addams phase now.
It’s Poppy.
I quite appreciate the Wednesday Adams phase
Yeah, the Bizzaro version.
She’s Poppy.
Goldfish makes the water taste more goldeny. Like the honey of fishes.
I did actually think that she might swallow it
Um, no, but good thought.
Gold Fish tanks are gross.
I used to have a different hobby, after Guitar and before Bass. It really started when I moved to Arizona, and started getting stir crazy for the ocean and surfing. So I found a hobby. Little did I know the enormous rabbit hole I was jumping into. You talk about GAS in bass, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! You aint seen nothing til you start with a simple aquarium. Then hit the NET, and learn abut plants in aquariums, and even find a Phoenix based group about it.
So,
Aquariums immediately turned into Planted tanks into AquaScaping
Fish tanks with live plants
I had a forum like this…no wait, I had two forums, AAPE (Arizona Aquatic Plant Enthusiasts) when I lived in Phoenix from '04 to '8. When I moved back to Huntington Beach, CA I joined SCAPE (Southern California Aquatic Plant Enthusiasts) which ironically has the best possible name for a panted tank forum since the art is called AquaScaping, among other things.
Anyway, in a pretty short time and realizing SCAPE was not doing as well as AAPE (as a forum and community), I started making suggestions for the club, and quickly was voted president, and got SCAPE hopping, I got many local and non local fish and pet stores within the greater LA and San Diego area, as well as some of the big online sources for the stuff we need for our hobby to recognize us as a club and give various discounts for club members and even donate items for our monthly meetings to raffle off and help support our club.
I built many planted fish tanks from nano 3 gallon desktop’s to 75 gallon aquariums and eventually to 300L and 500L rimless tanks from Japan.
One of our members in Arizona was pretty well knows for being published in Fish and AquaScaping magazines as well as authoring a couple books on plants in the aquarium and several fish species, including South American Ciclids (Blue Rams and Apistogrammas are my favorite).
Another person with an online planted tank store, specializing in plants also had a feature in a bi-monthly Aquarium magazine. After working with him a bit, and getting 30% discount for all SCAPE members with free shipping, I developed a pretty good working relationship with him. One day he e-mailed me and asked me if I would be willing to be interviewed by him for his section in the magazine. I said yes of course.
He sent me a questionnaire to fill out and asked for photographs of members tanks that he would select a few and use them in his article.
I filled out the article and gathered 3 pictures of my tanks. They were pretty good, but not my best work. I passed the completed questionnaire I did around to the rest of the SCAPE board members (5 in total) and had them look at it and make sure that I didn’t make any mistakes, and instructed them to make sure I was not trying to take all the credit, and to make corrections if they saw anything like that. I also asked them to add anything to it they thought relevant, that would benefit the interview, and of course to add some pictures of their tanks.
I had a thread in our forum to get other members to send in tank pictures, giving them a deadline, close to what my deadline for submission of the completed interview with photos attached.
Also
I got SCAPE and AAPE to come together. They each kept the websites (both of which are active today), but I got AAPE added onto every retailer and online store for equal discounts, and we made sure monthly meetings for each club were never on the same weekend so that members could attend either / or and even both meetings if they wanted to. I did get about 5 members from Arizona to come out to our meetings over the few months that I was President, and made the trip with a few members from CA to AZ for a meeting. It was great fun.
Sadly, I was strung out on dope the WHOLE time, and ended up in Detox and Rehab the month that the magazine came out with the interview and tank pictures.
Luckily, one of the board members in SCAPE (who was a recovering addict) made me a color photo copy of the pages with the interview.
It was awesome, there was very little, if any, editing to what we wrote collectively, and it was very well received.
The surprise to me was, out of about 30 pictures of tanks I sent in, anonymously, he chose two photos, and they were both my tanks.
I was both shocked and flattered.
Sadly, while I was in detox and rehab, my (soon to be X wife at the time) sold off ALL my gear. 15 plus tanks, high quality high power grow lights, furniture quality stands, Co2 tanks and regulators and all the nick necks used in planted tans to keep the water airated (oxygen for the fish), filled with nutrients (N, P and K) for plants diffusers for infusing Co2 in the water for plant food.
I never got back into the hobby, and kind of disappeared from the forums.
However if you go to either forum, SCAPE or AAPE, and search for “goalcreas” you will be able to find my build threads where I have photographed building tanks from empty to completely finished, with plants scapedd, rocks scape, and the pervedt fish for the tank (they are different depending on what types of plants and natural decor you choose to use.
Anyway, this is Not Music related, but its a little FUN (at least IMO),
But, I don’t see how Airhead Girl drinking a fish is Music related either.
But I won’t drag this out any further.
However, if I can dig up a photo of the Tank that made it into the magazine, I will post it.
There are lots of aquarium forums for aquarium groups including planted tanks, African Ciclid keepers, salt water, reef, and probably more, depending what you are into.
Like Bass Buzz, AAPE was my first home. SCAPE became my second home, they put me in the White House, and I kept diplomatic relations with AZ very good to the point of a union. Like many other bass forums out there, like SBL, Talkingbass (Marks site), Low End U, and org… Talk Bass…But those two were my home and salvation equal to Bass Buzz for bass (not bass fish), but when I pick other bass forums to browse, I really only pick BassEducation.com (Damien Erskine’s site) other community to get involved with.
In the fish world, the only other one I ever really got to be a part of and join in the forum was The Planted Tank . Net . If this interests you at all, Planted Tank . Net is a great big international forum where you can see and learn a lot, and when I was there, they were all friendly.
Reef . Com for salt water fish / reef tanks was great too.
Many others I stumbled across were more like TALK BASS forum, which I shy away from, it is not as friendly (tho probably loaded with good info), like I did many other forums out there for fish tanks, but between SCAPE, AAPE and ThePlantedTank.net , there is everything you need. (I can’t recall if I ever posted tank pictures in the latter tho)
I was being facetious and cheeky lol. XD
The closest I’ve had to an aquarium is keeping betta fish in a glass vase with bamboo. Atm I have a gallon glass jar with a pond ecosystem in it; cheapest hobby ever. I think the jaw was $5? Just plop some free mud from the pond in the bottom, pond plants, some sticks and rocks, and see what appears. I had some earthworms but they’re gone, now. I had something larger that I’d see at night and would hide; it’s gone, now. But there are tiny little things that move about, now, and it’s been going for about a year, now. I should do another and see if I can find a balance for the larger life.
One for @Mac I think.
