Been fiddling with it and so far I’m really liking the changes. Haven’t dug in too much but the UI changed alone have fixed almost all the complaints I’ve ever had about it.
Been a while since I’ve produced any music but this is getting me itching to make some new songs…especially now that I could play real and arguably passable bass on them.
I use Ableton Live 11 Intro. Has what I need and in any case I don’t have enough space for Ableton 12 on my laptop. I use Ableton mainly for keyboards and an electronic wind instrument. But I am thinking of connecting up the guitar and bass for audio tracks.
I just got a Scarlett 2i2 and it comes with Ableton Live Lite. I just figured out how to connect all the cables and finally get the damn thing to actually record on my PC. I’m a crayon-eater who is pretty deficient when it comes to computer stuff. Is there a good video tutorial on how to use the software? I’m lost when it comes to loading songs into the program so I can play along. i.e. Do I have to load a file that has all of the different layers (I think Lite only allows 8 tracks at once) or can I just take a song and fit it to the software where the whole thing is one track and then play bass as another track? I’m so far behind the times I deliberately bought an XLR to 1/4" cable so I could run it out of my amp so I didn’t have to mess with any plugins.
