I see what you did there
When I fire up the Ampeg, my wife and one of our Dogs head upstairs to watch Say Yes to the Dress. The dog sits at the end of our bed and watches all of it. I donāt understand.
It can be just as perplexing to most Americans too.
Yeah I donāt get it. Her image of Jersey is entirely that and Sopranos. Iām like āWell⦠itās complicated.ā
Itās like saying my image of Japan is anime. I mean, yāall go running with toast in the morning, right?
IDK AggRetsuko is pretty spot on actually
Iām from the mid Atlantic and thatās my image of NJ.
Evangelion? One Piece? Miss Kobayashiās Dragon Maid (which is pretty funny)? Girls und Panzers?
You do have a point, there are realistic animes. Yuru Camp, which is a slice of life show. Many people do take pictures āpassed outā next to that bathroom. Love Live! is another.
At the same time, Sopranos isnāt that far off if you are a Northern Jersey Italian family with mob influences, say like my family was.
I believe you but have less than no personal knowledge here
Iām originally from New Jersey (childhood) but from a peaceful rural town with lots of horses.
What they donāt get right is the weirdness. Like my uncles Johnny and Albie. John was a hit man, his brother a Franciscan monk. And they got along fine.
This may be the biggest off topic thread derailment in the history of the internet.
its our superpower
Great band name.
I grew up listening to U2 and a lot of my early efforts learning bass were practicing Adam Claytonās bass lines.
The first three albums have some pretty busy playing compared to his later work! āTwo Hearts Beat As Oneā is a great example. Zooropa and Achtung Baby also have some fun bass lines. āLemonā has a funky feel to it and āUntil The End of The Worldā is fun to play and holds the song together.
Adam Clayton isnāt a super technical player but what he plays allows the Edgeās guitar to shine. Iād also say heās probably the coolest member of the band!
Now I keep getting content about Sting not being a good bassist. Itās just all click bait.
I donāt know if itās because Edge was so unique a guitar player, but Iām not sure of many bands that had so many easily recognizable bass lines.
Iāve played quite a bit of old U2 and the Police for my 20 something children and they think it all just sounds like foundational alt rock. I keep trying to tell them that didnāt exist back then.
Iāve also gone on a dive of live U2 performances, and I see Adam and LMJ so focused on each other.
Iāve been worried about Larry and his health problems.
Patrick Pfeiffer, he wrote Bass Guitar For Dummies, I think it was prior to Pop recording, so 1996āish
Edit: found this exerpt in a U2 forum:
āTeaching Adam Clayton is one of the highlights of my career,ā he answers without hesitation. āHeās absolutely wonderful!ā In fact, as I interviewed Pfeiffer, he had nothing but compliments for U2ās bassist from the time they spent together between the spring of '94 and '95.
Here it is:
