Bass Guitar for Dummies is a great book, packed with practical advice AND music theory. A good complement to BassBuzz.
Thanks, that was amazing to read!
Iāll admit, I stopped following U2 after Zooropa. It might be worth revising some of the later work. What I heard back then was just sounding too pop/adult alternative to me at the time. I was a bit of that early 90ās music snob culture in my early adult youth.
I recently saw some of the stripped-down acoustic work Bono and Edge have been doing together and was impressed.
Something crazy I was recently reading is Larry has some kind of disorder where he canāt count and should not have been able to even be an okay drummer and keep rhythm. I feel like that too But Larry and Adam made magic together.
Beethoven apparently also lacked the genetics of a good musician (as well as being deaf).
I used to love Bill Bailey
Iāve been watching more early 80s U2 videos and Iām so blown away by what those kids did. They didnāt have anything like YouTube, etc.
I was just a 10-14 year old at the time hearing those albums on my older brotherās record player from his room. The bass lines where more what I could hear then through the walls.
The music was just so far away and different from what was popular in that day. I remember being ridiculed in middle school for liking that weird band.
Yep, havenāt seen Black Books in ages but itās great
