IWhen I was just starting bass (that makes me sound more experienced than I am…it was only 6 months ago 
) a friend who plays drums said to me, “If you get lost just hit a note, any note, so long as it keeps the rythm going, is better than no note!”

I like that idea. You’ll soon realise if it doesn’t sound great and will move to something that does
