Amp Making a Clicking Noise when Turned On

I’ve got a new (probably a floor model that was shipped) Ampeg 2x10 450 watt BA210 combo amp. It makes sort of a medium-loud click out of the speaker when I turn it on and when I turn it off. Is this normal for amps with fans and lots of wattage?

Does it do it if you turn the volume down first?

Try turning the volume down before hitting the switch

I had to learn this the hard way.

Could also be power related. Did you tried the ground lift switch?

I get more noise from my amp when I connect to a non-grounded socket. It’s only audible when I turn up the volume.

Thanks for asking. Yes, it still makes the noise when the volume on the main and aux are set to zero.
