@Tommydogg & @ResumeIgnore I can whole heartedly recommend Spector basses. I love my Dimension and it’s probably the most versatile out of my collection in terms of how many different tones I can get out of it. Granted, mine is the earlier non-HP version so I can’t speak to that side of it. I do love the Fluence pickups on the older version, though.

I have a birthday coming up and figured I’d celebrate with a bass. I think I have it narrowed down to these 4.

Spector legend standard

Jackson spectra x

Schecter omen

Yamaha trbx 504

The stupid thing is being in a fairly large city the selection around here is shit and can only try the Yamaha and maybe the Jackson on a good day.

No idea what the first three are like, but the Yamaha is a great option :slightly_smiling_face:

I love my Yamaha 304. It’s so comfortable to play and sounds great.

We had one growing up. It was a massive POS :joy:

But growing up working class, it was what my dad could afford!

I have a Spector Legend Standard, same one as in your pic. They are great basses at a reasonable price point. They also look pretty damn cool!!

Spectors have a real following…there’s a reason for that :metal:

I had the Warwick version (Rockbass Streamer LX) and it was a great bass, but I found its ergonomics were not for me.

The Yamaha TRBX line is perfect though. I loved my 604; that 504 would be great.

When I was at school, a friend’s dad had the Vanden Plas version with the ‘Bentley’ grill. They thought they were right posh!

It was still a cr@p car

So, I kinda want a Warwick. Mostly because one of my favorite bassists plays one. But then today I was at a shop and I played a Warwick German Pro Streamer 5 String, which is way above my budget. But it was so amazing and unique.

This shop is like 100 miles from my house so I can’t just pop in and try other basses whenever I want. So I’m wondering what the big differences between the rock bass series and the Pro series are.

My $400 Squier to $1400 Fender was a noticeable improvement. And it looks like Warwick’s entry level basses start around $1200.

Sorry folks. I’m mostly just thinking out loud, so to speak. But any opinions on Warwick’s will be appreciated.

Oh that could explain why I couldn’t yank out the plug in the shop :grimacing:

@MikeC : new color scheme from Mayones for the HF Jabba?? Yellow aged or something??

Not quite my cup of tea, so perhaps this is the wrong thread

Haha, well the other two basses in the video are worse in that respect

Found a better pic:

There also is a 4 string signature from Junior Braguinha with a similar finish, it appears:
