Anyone actually been to the Sweetwater store?

Has anyone ever been to the Sweetwater store in person? We’re making a trip to Michigan to see our daughter after the holidays. It’s not a bad detour off 75 over to Fort Wayne so I’m planning to make it part of the route. I just want to see the place, but my other motive is to get a new bass.

The only thing near me that has any sort of selection at all is Guitar Center. After visiting there with my jam group, I learned how much difference it can make to put your hands on them and play them. I also learned that I want to get a short scale. My plan is to hit Sweetwater and play every brand kind of short scale they have and, hopefully, walk away with one.

Am I expecting too much - or is it really as awesome a place as it appears to be?

I know @John_E has been there.

It’s going to come down to a short scale stingray or sterling short scale, Mustang bass and Sire U5 for me. I won mustang and sterling. Love them.

You opened a sweetwater branch in your home: let’s admit it!

All except for the Hollywood location. There are some really cool stuffs there.

It’s a huge facility and there’s usually a lot going on there. It’s definitely worth the stop for sure.

in a related note, when sweetwater commissioned Josh from JHS and others to write a beach boys style song, the song lyrics they wrote was about a customer that falls in love with a sweetwater sales girl at that store.

I’ve been to Sweetwater before. It’s been a number of years, but I grew up near Fort Wayne. I was pretty impressed with it.

It’s definitely better than any Guitar Center I’ve been to. Bigger, better selection. I think it’s a pretty quick drive from Fort Wayne. If I remember right, it’s off US 30 between Fort Wayne and Columbia City.

I think you’ll find it worth the detour. :slightly_smiling_face:
