It has been quite active in recent weeks. At my latitude it is not necessarily multi coloured but rather bright red. I am fortunate to have no light pollution:

Wife and saw it last night. First time ever in my life. We’re in southwest Virginia.
Not nearly as spectacular as you see on tv or whatever, but we sat and stared at it for a couple hours. It was really cool to finally see in person.
