oh, you may want to know that I’m absolutly not obsessed by the idea to play a note-perfect bass cover. in fact I almost always change some minor things on each cover I do 
I often like to adapt the bass line to my own playing style and feel. not always, but often.
so there’s no problem at all doing a simplified or note-imperfect cover ! it’s totally allowed and in any case it’s way better than not recording a cover at all and also a simplified cleanly and neatly played bass line will always work much better than a dirty attempt to play a note-perfect line. well, yeah, no problem at all.
