I forgot to post in here, but I finished the course a couple of weeks ago.
I initially signed up thinking that it would probably be too easy and that I would refund it if I felt I didn’t get anything out of it. I breezed through the first 5 modules or so, but I could tell after about a week that I was benefitting hugely from going back to basics and working on my fundamentals.
The course took me around 2 months in total, going very quickly at first and then more slowly as I started to focus on other things in my practise and work on full songs.
I’ve grown in confidence a lot over these months and I feel much more comfortable with all aspects of bass playing. I was even able to play along with a Miles Davis piece yesterday with just a list of the chords. The course gave me a base in theory which I was able to use to take further in my own studies.
So yeah, I’m super pleased with how far I’ve come in the last 2 months. I’ll be returning to individual lessons, probably picking and choosing for mini practice sessions, but I don’t see myself working through the course again from front to back.

Today I have completed my first pass of the course, took about 2.5 months. I need to go back through the badass checklists, but I think I’ve probably got all but Papa’s Got a Brand New Bag and Red Clay (I very much marked those to come back to those two even before the checklist).
Very much enjoyed the course, learned a lot. Even with the decade of orchestra experience I have, I still learned a fair bit of theory or had stuff make a lot more sense. Josh is pretty great at giving the useful theory stuff and putting it in context.
Very much got a few things I need to work on, study, and internalize (the dichromatic chord progression being top of the list, so much made sense when Josh explained that and now I need it in my brain).
Looking forward to revisiting those lessons as well as checking out the masterclasses.
