Not sure if this has been posted here yet or not, but I stumbled across it today and found it useful as I know virtually nothing about recording myself. Seems to just cover the basics, but that’s a good start for me. I’m getting tired of using my phone for video and audio so am trying to learn more about this stuff.

Great video. He gives a really good overview.
I recommend Audacity for simple recording if you’re using Windows.
I looked at Reaper and at PreSonus Studio One. They were both far more capable but had a learning curve to match. Audacity is pretty easy to use for someone new to recording like me.

Thanks. Will check it out. I currently have a Mac laptop and a Windows desktop so will look at both. Have dabbled with Garage Band in the past, but my bass stuff is next to my desktop.
