This is a space to share and care about what’s shaking with bass makers and manufacturers, large and small.
Offering new models? Availability, or not? Starting up, expanding, or going out of business?
All builder discussion welcome.

A G&L insider’s take on why the business ceased manufacturing.
Thats such a damn shame. Now that I’m double dipping in the 6 string world, G&L’s have been my favorites that I’ve played (ASAT over Teles, Legacy over Strats). My Doheny (jazzmaster) is my it guitar. I love playing it. I really hope someone besides Fender buys the designs and brings them back.
I’m good with new guitar and bass toys from Yamaha. Hopefully they’re giving us another Revstar with a trem on the guitar side. I’d preorder it and sell my RSE that day for that. Not really sure what I want to see on the bass side. My 734 is pretty much perfect imo. Seriously, I have no clue what I’d want them to change, add, or takeaway on the BB side. I might be in trouble if they’re introducing a 744a (although I highly doubt that).

I hear ya. Not exactly sure what update they’d make either. I’m curious to know though!
That’s gorgeous. Holy shit, it’s $3700 dollars though.
High price for certain. They are a limited run MIJ. Supposedly only 70 units available for Europe. No exact number on how many will be available for sale in the states.
Yamaha does not seem to have bass news at NAMM 2026.
A number of new guitar models though:
Really interesting. ![]()
That Pacs 11 is interesting, I’m in the market for a telecaster already. The unfortunate thing with it is they went with a Fender style bridge that makes intonation damn near impossible. Much prefer the ASAT bridge with the individual saddles.
If it helps, Yamaha is using the shitty 3 screw Fender saddles.
As one does. They suck, but are part of the Telecaster thing. Not great but not super surprising. Can always replace the bridge frame and saddles with a better aftermarket one - even Fender makes them.
Nice that they went Tele/Humbucker.
Just checked the page and that’s a Gotoh bridge and tuners too, so the screws should be pretty standard - it does have those two weird ones up in the corner though, not sure why.
Pickups were apparently designed by Neve. YGD-made Neve pickups should be great.
