Bass Pampering Day!

I gave my SR500EPB some love today.

I bought it used and it came with a bum bridge saddle which muted the E string. After a bunch of testing, I managed to “fix” it by swapping the saddles around. I ordered a replacement bridge from Ibanez, but didn’t put it on… because it was working. Also, the bridge pickup was slanted back towards the bridge.

So! Today I took the strings off it, swapped out the bridge, reseated the pickup, cleaned the body and conditioned the fretboard, put a brand new set of strings on it, and set the action and intonation.

It sounds happy. Of course, that could just be me, projecting a bit.

I believe the appropriate response, here, is…

“Great minds think alike.”

Or something.
