That 8-string harmonic bass is very interesting. You ever tried something like that? I used to own a 12-string Strat (one of my selling regrets) and it was great for rhythm guitar. One for bass could be interesting.

Never tried one myself. The shop staff was not overly friendly so I didn’t ask to try this one.
It’s hard to tell in the image but due to how the higher octave strings lie (about a string width below the lower octave ones) I think it actually looked relatively difficult to play.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing actually. Should be able to play both strings with the tip of a finger really. That one looks almost like you shift from one octave to another instead of playing both at once. On the 12-string I had, it would be hard to play one string without playing the one next to it.

He has some expensive basses there like Fodera and just lays them on top of each other. Part of me says that’s just wrong and part of me says basses are meant to be used and abused. People even pay extra to have fake wear and tear done to basses. I tend to baby my nicer equipment though.
