Yeah that would look great with maple. Though that is a pretty gorgeous grain there too.
FujiGen really makes good stuff. Including that they made a lot of the MIJ Fenders, of course; they had the contract for those for a long time. If a Fender says “Made in Japan” prior to 1997, it was a FujiGen. Most of the CIJ ones after that were Tokai (also top-tier). Fender has had their own plant since 2015.
