This thing looks like the shape of a Saxophone Silhouette to me.

Having played sax for many years, I’ve never seen one that looked like that.

This one must be a proud male saxophone.

Disregard the neck - focus on the body

Oh, I completely disregarded the neck.

It’s the bizarre protuberance at the back of the “saxophone” body that…sticks out as an anatomical anomaly. :smirk:

That is… erm, the sax’s thumb rest

For a mighty, mighty thumb!

Yeah I thought about that as well but the Sax shape remained strong in my mind

Anyone ever heard of Baum Guitars from Denmark? They’re releasing their first Bass guitars; look pretty nice:

Ha, never heard of these guys. I will have to do some research.

It seems that the basses are not manufactured in Denmark, though. Designed and developed, probably; as well as set-up and quality checked before shipment.

Interesting…

It seems they manufacture their high end guitars in Aarhus in Denmark, while their Vega series is made in South Korea, before being imported to Denmark and checked over in their workshop.

Either way, very nice looking instruments!

funny story, but my re-emergence back into playing bass was because of this guitar. i’ve been a pretty big fan of hers and when music man released her sig guitar, she started talking about how a bass version would be released soon. it was a passive short scale, supposedly 30" scale and she made it in conjunction with pino palladino. and i was like, well i better start to learn bass again because i have to get one. which also caused me to start looking at music man basses. of course, for reasons only known by them, the project suddenly during the pandemic was axed, although there is supposedly at least one prototype out there (i heard pino has it). at the time the st. vincent was one of their biggest selling guitars, and short scale basses were flying off the shelves, so who knows.

I’m not a short scale guy but I love that shape and it would suit a bass well. If they ever offer it I’d be smitten for sure.
