Same. I’ve been curious as to why you feel the need to repeat your annoyance.
What you refer to as White Knighting is an expression of an opinion, albeit counter to yours.
PM me if you feel the need to discuss further.

Can take it or leave it with him tbf, just his greeting that makes me cringe lol, just skip the first few seconds
Lobster can be cringe at times, but he’s real. I’ve interacted with him a couple times on social media and he’s a nice guy who doesn’t take himself seriously. He can be wrong, and he would tell you so if you asked.
That’s beautiful!
i like lobster. he’s consistent in his format, he’s knowledgeable, and he reviews a lot of stuff so it’s easy to go back to previous videos and compare sounds. i don’t always agree with his ratings but i’m able to form my own opinion at least on the sound by the end of a video
It’s a custom shop Cirrus.
As a person he seems fine. As a reviewer he’s abjectly terrible IMO, and I wish he would stop presenting his content (which is otherwise fine for what it actually is) as reviews and more of “Lobster’s bass hot-takes” or something. Glaring errors in his “reviews” and poor review quality really take away from something that would otherwise be great as “I didn’t like my thing so check out my sweet mods!”
My sum total problem with the guy is that he presents his content as objective reviews when they are far from that. Other than that he seems like a great guy.
I always keep in mind that one person’s review is ultimately just their opinion and for me it’s more about being able to hear the instrument from as many sources as possible and lobster has an abundance of stock and modded instruments to listen to. I find him entertaining enough but I could see how he wouldn’t be everyone’s cup of tea
Absolutely, this!^^^
This is true but ultimately he exists is a huge field of other sources of that info and really, in the end, presents his stuff as actual reviews. It’s fine to hold him to a standard just like one would any other site. It pains me when someone posts “This got a low review from Lobster” and takes it seriously because most of the time the proper response there would be “who cares? Lobster has lots of hot takes on things.”
I’m with you, @Adampalooza. If I ever tune in to a review, I just want to hear the instrument(s) being played.
I couldn’t care less what online bass gear reviewers and armchair critics have to say about anything. It’s all about the basses for me.
That said, so many things factor into how an instrument sounds in an online video, but most important to me are the production values: Is the sound recorded well, or is it muffled/distorted/too low/etc.? If it’s a high quality audio track on the video – and the player is decent – that’s good, and I’ll listen to it; if not, I don’t watch the video at all. Life is too short for unforced aggravation.
This is fine for you, Mike. You have an excellent outlook here and are going in with open eyes.
But a lot of people who are new don’t really have the expertise or ears yet to do this. So when they see Lobster giving a poor review to basses that aren’t his cup of tea but are actually outstanding instruments, it’s basically misinformation for them, and this is my problem with how he presents his content.
And Lobster does this often.
looks so ass good
after the utter disappointment (IMO) that was last year’s stingray line up, these are much more exciting. 12 new colors a new model and that kiwi is amazeballs
Grape Crush ftw
I need that Grape Crush. I would love any one of those though.
