but yes not $15,000 gorgeous
The kids will go hungry.
This came up on my Facebook feed today;
2007, playing Eruption on a 1936 Tutmarc Audiovox bass at Gruhn Guitars in Nashville Tn.
Good times.
I just sold my nice MIJ Telecaster and I kind of want that Telecaster.
Sire Sexy.
New V5-24 passive Jazz bass model. 24 frets, deep cutaway Alder body, satin Roasted Maple neck with rolled edges, Rosewood fretboard, white binding, and killer tone.
What a whole lotta love. For notta lotta bread.
Wow! And wow, $5k!
WADR to Spector this one doesnāt do anything for me. Especially being a piezo. Nice that itās medium scale, there needs to be more of those, but really the styling initially seems bland and the bridge+tailpiece are among my least favorite types. I do dig the 2x2 headstock but is that fretboard ebony? It looks out of place with the blonde body. Honestly I prefer any of Spectorās mass production instruments over this.
I have heard two categories of piezo setups, cheap (various ubass) and nice (my Ibanez). the cheap ones have all had uneven volume levels to some degree and sounded⦠ok. the Ibanez sounds great.
Yeah they can be good, but still would not be my first pick.
Sorry if it sounds line I am crapping all over something others like here, itās just I have relatively high expectations for what a custom Spector should be and this one is landing pretty low on the list.
nah it didnāt sound like that at all. I think it looks pretty good although Iām not crazy about that headstock on it? and yeah, tailpiece too. also I know itās hand built, but not a lot of value here for 5 large.
Standard is rosewood, and Ebony is a $300 upcharge.
I kinda dig it, but Iād really like to hear how it sounds. I like the looks and as an aside have often wondered why we donāt commonly see sitka tops on solidbody instruments when they are so common on acoustics. But I digress. The carved thumbrest is a novel idea, seems kinda neat. Wonder what the difference in sound is with and without the Toneport?
EDIT: Regardless of how good it may sound, very little to no chance Iād spend that kind of money on one.
That is some real pretty wood. I canāt imagine being able to drop 5k on one either.
The bass formerly known as Prince
Itās definitely striking. Iād like to see one with a little more subtle pick guard to see how Iād like that.
I do like the look of the strandberg bass so I think I could appreciate it.
