Actually wondering if it has neck dive, it looks damn cool though
I totally love it
I dig it.
I think Iāve either seen that bass in āHeavy Metalā the motion picture or the music video for Iron Maidenās āWriting On The Wallā
This is a custom bass, not a production model. Original price $6K+.
I absolutely dig it! How would you go about intonating with a bridge like that? Or would you?
Great question! This bass essentially has an acoustic instrument bridge, meaning that it is a carved saddle that is sanded (altered) to alter the shape (position) of each string break relative to the nut to ensure proper intonation. Long story short: You set intonation by physically changing the shape of the saddle.
As an example, a quality steel string acoustic guitar typically sports a bone (or ivory, in the case of vintage instruments) saddle (similar to a nut), although synthetic material saddles are also available these days, but certainly not traditional.
I could be wrong, but something doesnāt look quite right with her hand and wrist in the lower photo.
Got one recorded tonight, Iāll get it dressed and ready to go tomorrow.
Canāt wait!
How was the experience??!
So far Iām a big fan of going from 12 lbs to 7.5 lbs. I tend to play on the middle pickup most of the time. Itās got a very āhotā sound to it. Iām having a hard time deciding whether to anchor my thumb on the middle or bridge pickup. My initial thoughts were that it sounded very āpunk rockā and I still feel that way. It wants to play aggressively. Itās also my only bass with roundwounds on it, that could be part of it.
That calls for an Idles cover
hah sorry itās really early. that would be a guitar
yeah iām just so used to danelectros being basses that i didnāt even notice at first.
Hey There! The Dingwall JTS arrived a couple of weeks ago. It plays like a dream. I was going to hold it out of playing it live in worship for a while as I got used to it, but it is SO smooth and practically plays itself. I jumped in with it and canāt look back. I picked up my Fender P yesterday and felt like I was holding a two by four with razors for strings in comparison. Iām exaggerating, but truly surprised at how it plays and especially at how it sounds.
Congrats! Looks badass.
This bass is begging for some neon strings!
Simply outstanding instruments, love Dingwalls. Well done.
