Yeah, that is a bit of a pickle⌠(and thereâs the Bacchus too )
Thatâs a bit of a conundrum really. Those are all very beautiful instruments, but so far, I havenât really âbonded/gelledâ with a 5-string yet. And here I am getting another one
Do I just keep them because they are (kind of) âspecialâ??
It would be going back to its origins, which is a nice thought⌠but what would you do with a 5er??
really nice !!!
For a TRB PII I would give them another shot
itâs much better when it isnât. i have been wanting to try a 5 string bass but the last time i had one i put almost zero effort into it and lost interest. so i donât want to put a lot of money into one if i decide to try it. something like this is perfect, and i think, pretty damn nice for minimal cash.

My understanding is this is a budget made in Canada dingwall, not a budget dingwall.
i think youâre right, i havenât really dug into it much. and not a ton of info yet anyways.
Yes, this isnât going to be âbudgetâ in any real sense of the wordâŚ
It could beâŚif youâve got a BIG budget.
For the tuning enthusiasts I presume.
That said, how the hell do you ever get it in tune. Jeez
Not to mention, that bridge. Eww.
I played a 12-string acoustic for years. After a while, I could tune my guitar as fast as a 6-string player. Just took doing it a few times to get used to it.
The fixed bridge on this custom is like an acoustic guitar.
yes - a good reason to avoid on an electric
Hence, the descriptor âcustom.â
With 15 strings using a peculiar mix of gauges, a fixed bridge, and multiple zeros in its price tag, this bass is definitely not destined to be a mass production model for gigging.
Me wants! I hope he makes them! Iâll just have to GAS for another Bongo in the meantime!
That thang got soo many strings⌠You go to slap⌠It slap yo mommaâŚ
