Interesting.
Right color, I would take a closer look.
Yeah I think most of them are cool dayglo colors. Probably rare now as he only made them a couple years.
HAHAHAHAHAAH!!!
First read I thought you said “anybody try a Fire Bass”. I was zooming in to see what it was before I realized it was a Flea Bass.
I have not, but I would like to.
I’m fine with my BB, it’s just fun to window shop.
Bongos are good for that. Amazing looking basses
I do really like that color combo. Thanks, now you have me adding to my Reverb Search for my daily feed.
Looks like they go for about $450 used here.
Damn it, that is well within my budget.
Now I am gonna have to buy that Cherry Burst EBMM Sterlilng from GC to keep from getting one of these.
Problem solved.
Sort of …
Is there no Sub or Sterling version of the Bongo? That seems like it would be a compelling product. Surprised they don’t do it.
Like, just look at this amazing thing. They could make bank selling an intermediate-priced version of this.
i was actually kind of fascinated by those for a short while. he made them to be affordable quality entry level basses, and i really like how they look. they show up pretty regularly on reverb, pretty cheap too. and they made a short scale.
Do they even make those anymore? I thought Flea shut down that company…
Nope, they only made them for a couple years. Still available used though.
yeah, they didn’t make too many of them.
Ok, first it’s a Wal, and second, it’s Miki Santamaria, but check out the tone he gets out of slapping this thing.
incredible bassist and incredible bass, but man that exceeded expectations.
Sweeeeeeet
It sounds so good, especially for a miked amp in a crowd.
Effortless cool
I also like the variations in slap intensity (for lack of a better expression) that he conjures!
One day, when I can slap, I think I would prefer these nonchalantly applied slaps rather than others, more in-your-face, slaps!
He’s ridiculously good.
