That’s fine. To each his own.
I don’t know about their windows, but I do know where the Dutch keep their armies…
In their sleevies.
Morecambe and Wise or The Goons?
Ooh who makes that? I’m fancying green lately.
That long horn on the Corvettes maxes me a little uneasy
Single luthier. Gonna be ‘spensive.
And then there’s the Ibanez Iceman.
One too many strings, but I like it.
I feel you, man. I’m not a five-driver, myself. But I do like its lines.
Ya … that’s hot AF … mmmMMMMmm
That pickup is so cool. If the head is vintage Tele-ish it would be so awesome.
Burn Burn Burn Dutch-land …
@Whying_Dutchman … have you told us everything about the true origin of Germany ?
Gustav (Lignum Instruments in Croatia) and I have agreed on the build of a fretless, short scale 5 string Spring bass, configured as follows:
- Tuners: Hipshot Licensed HB6 Clover key black
- Bridge: Schaller 3D-5 black
- Straps: Schaller S-Locks M black
- Strings: Gallistrings G77-5 Bass 5
- Pickups: Delano TheXtender 5 D/HE-M2 (bass side closer to bridge)
- Preamp: Delano Sonar 2 – Vol (push pull) – Bass – Treble (with passive tone blend)
- Scale: 30’’
- Frets: Fretless - fret markers on both sides of the fretboard, Bone nut
- body: walnut front, oak back
- neck: 3x wenge with oak veneer stripes
- fretboard: ebony with 12’’ radius
- finish: 2k satin polyurethane lacquer
It will look very much like this one, except for the pickups, and the extra knob and switch for mids control. Both of my amps have lo-mids and hi-mids controls and my GR Bass AT Cube 500 combo has 3-position switches for each with 3 different center freqs, so I don’t have any need for Delano’s Sonar 3 preamp.
Ooo, ooo. Gustav just sent me a photo on WhatsApp of the woods he’s selected. Preliminary shipping date is 1 April.
That’s going to be beautiful!
The description gave me an almost sexual response - you have great taste!
Also the pic is … mwah!
PS You like the oval humbuckers ( Delano TheXtender 5 D)? That’s the only thing that felt a little anti-climatic. I like the ones on the pic!
Looks great!! Congrats!
Apr 1 is an ominous date for delivery (Also, 2025 or 2026??)
A '70s Tokai Hard Puncher, a lawsuit era MIJ bass back from when the Japanese makers were eating Fender and Gibson’s lunch by producing extremely high quality inexpensive instruments during the '70s slump when American manufacturing (across many sectors) had gone to shit.
Also, nice rug.
This is probably a really outstanding bass, they are asking about $575 for it.
This bass is very likely a better instrument than any contemporary vintage '70s Fender at any price. From those years a Fender in decent shape would probably cost 5-10x more at least.
It really is!
Nope, the only thing Fender-y is the straight control plate/knobs layout.
