I dig the body on it but you and I have some way different ideas on headstocks (after the jazzmaster hybrid thing yesterday). Congrats though. I know you’ve been GASing for one of these for awhile.

Diff’rent strokes for diff’rent folks.

Best of luck, Howard. The heart wants what the heart wants. :upside_down_face:

I just finished cleaning, oiling, and tuning my BB up and had it on the kitchen table where the sun hit it. I had to grab a picture. This red is so gorgeous in real light.

Took my friend and bandmate guitar shopping and as always saw some interesting basses.

A Michael Tobias, a couple Elricks, and a Sugi:

Fbass:

Nice RBX for @Al1885:

A sugar-frosted Jabba next to a couple gorgeous Sugi for @MikeC and @joergkutter:

A couple Acacias and an Alembic, some Elricks; also some junky-looking $30k Fenders:

A couple nice Patitucci’s:

Finally got to see a BB734A in red, and it is indeed gorgeous:

TRBX604FM in the new Indigo Blue:

Cute display of a couple of the ESP BanG Dream! Roselia models, in both full size (right) and mini (left):

ESP being ESP, always dug these, an Edwards IKÜZÖNE:

Some more nice Edwards:

All in all a good day. I left out all the usuals like Atelier Z and so on.

Man, some gorgeous basses there - what a bass El Dorado

Well, nope  Amongst all the beautiful basses they make, apparently occasionally they make a dud as well (gingerbread bass needs to go into the “bursts you hate” thread :joy:)

Lol yes. The effect was nicer in person but really… not good.

The Sugi’s next to it were the real stars there. Totally gorgeous.

And it looks like you wandered into the 5-string section there (brave of you!). ALL of those basses in those shots (Mayones/Sugi et al.) are fivers

What store was this Howard?

That F bass 6 is wowzers!!!

It’s the overall vibe — gorgeous finishes, materials and build quality — that attracts the eye.

I look past the one obvious mistake. :smirk:

That was across about seven different stores but the Mayones and Sugis were in Kurosawa.

Yeah that’s weird, however there’s some 4’s just to the right of the larger shot.

I actually got in trouble for taking that shot, I hadn’t seen he “no photos” sign in that shop. Worth it to get hat one though, nice Fbass.

I’ve seen this sugar-sprinkled finish treatment before. In fact, this finish was suggested to me by…someone. I politely but emphatically shot down that notion immediately.

I’d bet the farm that the build quality of that frosted Mayones is superb. So the verb “make” is a tad off-bass. The finish, however, is an unfortunate choice in my opinion.

That said, apparently, from what I’ve been told and photos that have been shared with me, there are more than a few guitarists around the world who dig this finish treatment. Better them than me.

I’ll say this, it stood out and was still clearly on-brand. I was all the way across the room when I said “Hey, check out that funky Mayones.”

“unfortunate” :joy:

You’re such a gentleman and diplomat, Mike
