I know it’s dumb but I am already itchy with 4 instruments. Like, one of them might have to go. The problem is they are all awesome

Yep, it’s easier with your first (and perhaps second) round buys, but adhering to a stringent bass limit is getting increasingly more challenging as each bass is already ā€œhand-pickedā€ (more or less).

Welcome - you have reached the next circle of bass hell

Or heaven.

Who the hell’s counting? The right number of basses is the number you’ll have when GAS is no more.

Obviously, this isn’t the case here.

Personally, I’d rather have another bass than listen to some arbitrary OCD.

Interesting bass. Hope they have enough neck bolts.

Watch out for the potentially-puncturing pokey bits.

Hah! No way.

But it is a limited edition Rick…

Yeah I’m a bit lost with these models - I basically know the 4001, 4003 and a couple of others. Rickenbacker really need to sort their marketing out .
I would love a licensed budget Rick produced in Indonesia / China…

whatever you do don’t look at how music man names their basses. i’m not even sure they themselves understand it.

As a Ric owner I would say no to budget versions as this is part of what makes them unique along with limited numbers they make. Think they would be shooting themselves in the foot.

I don’t know - as a proud Ric owner myself, I would love a legit 4004 or Longhorn, albeit perhaps with slightly lower grade electronics or materials. Gibsons and Fenders are still desirable despite Epiphone or Squier (both of which are damn fine brands themselves).

i was literally just going to say that. 90% of all basses are p or j ripoffs. people that love other brands just aren’t as used to it.
