Bass Porn

I hear you.

When I read your post this morning before the edits, I was going to say that it comes in the Fender hard-shell case and it ought to be safe in there. Even at the mercy of Eefrow baggage handlers!

I don’t worry too much about customs at the airport, they tend to be quite reasonable providing you treat them respectfully. Either that or I’ve been very lucky over four decades of flying world-wide for work. As my wife has told me more than once, they know who and what they’re looking for; they’re not interested in someone coming in with a bass guitar, iPad, laptop, an extra carton of fags or bottle of whisky.

My wife is off back to Japan at the back of the month and again end of next month. Its a lot less hassle for her to bring a brand new one back for me and then I can get it custom sprayed the same colour. I was toying with a real shouty purple but I can’t see past that pink. It does indeed f’ing rock!

Was looking at a Kingfisher the other week. They play real nice. That one looks like a G&L l-2000 minus all the controls.

I found this for sale whilst doing some window shopping earlier, second hand, £429 (about USD 580).

Well, I’d put that one there

Did they use masking tape for the burst? :scream:

Reminds me of the old show “ The Partridge family” their bus.

Something different from the norm…
Modified Tokai Talbo bass with Aluminum body. Very rare made in Japan in 2000 as a limited edition. Pick guard and pick ups have been changed.

No offense intended, but my first thought was the Partridge Family bus

Don’t know, but the Partridge bus might have been the inspiration. But it’s an Italian luthier, so it’s hard to know where the design concept came from.

I just dig the body shape and layout of the fret dot inlays and controls. :joy:

You’d think this would have been a knee-jerk reaction by @Whying_Dutchman to mention one of his compatriots (Mondrian):

I thought of Mondrian right away, but the polygonal shapes of some of the top inlay pieces are a departure fom the big M’s strict use of rectangles.

On the other hand, the Partridge bus design does use polygonal shapes. Who knows? Maybe the luthier had a thing for the saccharine faux band.

I think it’s a beautiful design, just don’t vibe with the finish

Although I’m not one to judge, cause I would be down with a Hatsune Miku bass, or a Bang Z! So I am flawed in my tastes
