Bass-related Nightmare

Well, last night I had my first bass-related nightmare. I was going to go play for the first time with a band. I was both excited and nervous. I got there and the guitarist raised his hand and said “Today we will be playing songs in the key of H.” He lowered his hand, snapped his fingers and the band immediately started playing, no count off or anything. I said “Wait! WHAT??!!!” as my band mates looked at me expectantly. The guitarist said “just shut up and play”. Then I woke up. If I have that dream again, obviously next time the chord progression will be H, E#, B# and back to H.

Maybe it was a German band? :grinning:

That was a very interesting video. Thanks for sharing! I love learning new things like this, and now if someone does say key of H I’ll know what it means.

My bass dreams are always good, luckily! I always dream that I’m amazing and can do everything

My bass nightmare was @MikeC and @Reasonably_Happy and I went to @John_E and tried to loot his bass collection while he’s away, and he came home early. We just scrambled, lol.

Haha, that’s funny - we all know Germans make good villains, even in music it seems
On the other hand, you ARE Heather_H, not Heather_B :astonished:

Dr Freud signing off for now!

Tsk, tsk. Sigmund, Sigmund, Sigmund.

Sometimes an H is just an H.

I was haunted by a rogue fly in my room tonight. It kept buzzing over my face and waking me up, so now I’m completely knackered. Kind of like a treble-y digeridoo.

I’m so glad you shared this one. This is such a real thing!
I have lots of bass related anxiety dreams.
They are usually along two lines -
Version 1 - There’s a big show, and no one comes. This is a nightmare I have lived out in real life plenty of times, so… like, no fair that it can also still be haunting me in my dreams. Haven’t I worked through this one?

Version 2 - I get to the show, and nothing will work. The amp won’t work. My bass won’t work. Everyone’s playing but I can’t hear anything. Terrible!!
I’ve had this happen multiple times on stage… and it’s usually because - although I’ve plugged in the amp / speakers / FX loop / pedals / rack unit / etc… I have not plugged in the bass.

High fives for weird music anxiety dreams.

Ironic!

I had a similar dream that same night in which I was the guitarist in a band and we decided to play in the key of H. The bass player looked confused, so I told her to shut up and play. She just smiled and flashed her BassBuzz tee shirt at me and then showed everyone what a bad ass bass gal she is.
Was that you, @Heather_H ?

Wait. You mean there’s NOT a key of H? Eff me, what have I been playing all this time?

I hear they’re playing Coachella this year.
