So I guess I could sell all my windows and android stuff and go with apple but . . .
I learned there is actually a panasonic video editor that I can download if I provide the serial number for my camera. I’ll see how that goes.

Just get DaVinci Resolve, it’s free and high quality. OBS Studio is fine too.
Thanks. I’ll give it a shot.
Good luck. For windows it’s probably the best option.
Ha ha. You don’t have to. I just don’t know anything thing outside Apple. Although the downside of the ecosystem is that they are so controlled I bought a couple of Androids so I can install Power Amp EQ for my Audiophiles stuffs. Luckily on the Mac there one company that makes the app for that.
Really though, the user interface are pretty much the same. Final Cut pros and other platforms, the Logic Pro and others.
Apple applications don’t really share a common UI, especially Final Cut Pro X, which has an entirely next-generation UI that’s unique unto itself.
Logic Pro and Motion are based on the old school track paradigm shared by Adobe Premier and all other nonlinear editing software.
I dearly wish the Magnetic Timeline and many, many other unique features built into FCPX were available in Logic Pro and Motion. They provide an ultra-intuitive editing experience I miss when I need to jump back into old-fashioned track-based applications. It’s always an unpleasant shock to my system when that happens.
Check out the Flex stuff in Logic though, it’s really good.
Almost all DAW are track based, for a very good reason.
Yeah, I quickly get lost in not track based tool, but then again I started on 4 track reel to reel.
It’s not the only music production paradigm, but it is exceedingly well suited for it.
I have tried a couple of bases so far, a Sterling and Sire P7 (Active PJ) which both had great sound.
Recently, I’ve switched to a Sire Short Scale U5 (Passive PJ) and I enjoy very much and feel much less fatigue and my hand injuries are gone.
I highly recommend you try it out, it sounds great and very pleasant to play and also weighs much less than the regular basses, so my neck and shoulders are also feeling less stressed.
Thanks. I wish someone local stocked them so I could try before I buy. I can order from Sweetwater and they give a 30 return period but I need to pay the shipping myself.
I had never sent a bass back to Sweetwater, but maybe a year ago or so I had to send a couple of them back. If I’m not mistaken, it was only something like $10 to cover the shipping as I’m guessing we’re leveraging their discounted bulk rate.
I’ve sent one back to Sweetwater, but it was so long ago that I have no clue what it cost to ship back. Whatever it was, it was worth it.
Basses are like boats: the happiest days of ownership are when you get ‘em and when you get rid of ‘em. ![]()
@nixxinn got it right. Try a bunch of basses and a few amps and see what really feels and sounds right. That said, you can’t go wrong with a Schecter. They run EMGs stock in quite a few basses and you get a lot of bang for your buck. I have a Schecter 5 string with the EMGs and an Aria Pro BEAD bass with a PJ setup. Paid less than $1000 used for both and that includes setup and a little tlc. I did buy EMGs for the Aria but that’s where you see prices go up and not 100% necessary
I have a Ibanez SR300E and it is a great sounding bass for under $400. I also have a Rondo SX VTG which is my practice bass. It is a 32” scale. I like the shorter scale. It was under $300. Lots of options out there.
Being older and after module 5 switched back to my 44 year old Ibanez from my jazz bass. The Fender is 2” shorter and the neck is black with small white side markers that are not bad as far as seeing them in lowish light whereas the Ibanez has an all Maple neck with side markera the size of a pin head. After some not so great playing I painted bigger dots on it. Not pretty but functional. When they wear off I will use a small brush or sponge to apply the paint as it migrated under the tape on all spots.
I would suggest the bass you decide on have markers easily seen (ie: LARGE) in most lighting conditions.
Also, I cut down the saddle screws so there will be no more cutting the edge of my hand while muting as I use a pick on occasion. My Strats will get the same treatment on the saddle screws. My apologies on the thread drift.
I like it! I don’t have a problem seeing the dots on my trbx304, there just not easily visible when playing since they are only on the face of the fret board. Being OLD and only a couple of years in (with a couple of extended breaks) I may look for some small stickers. Might help with the thought process delay when playing - am I on 5? 9? 6? 10? and beyond→
Thanks for the idea @Shaker .
I tell my wife that all the time.
Hello, I really like the Sire basses. I have a P5R, V5, and V5R. All three are good quality and sound great! At least check out their lineup. They make a lot of Fender shaped objects.
