Black strings

Has anyone tried the DADDario black strings?
I’ve got a black schecter and a Aerodyne coming in September and I reckon they’d look really cool.
I’m getting mixed reviews so would like to hear from someone who’s actually used them.

I use the D’Addario Black Nylon Tapewounds and they look cool (sound good too).

Question…what is the lifespan of the “tape” on a fretted bass? My guess is that for a fretless it would be about forever but with the frets digging into the soft nylon ???how long before the nylon wears through? and what happens to the sound when it does?
