It’s the weekend again. I’m bored, I have Paypal Credit and there’s alcohol involved. I need SWMBO to get home before I do something I might regret in the morning!
OOOOOOR…
Do it now before she comes home so that it’s past the point of cancellation when she gets there.
You’re not helping!
You should already know that you won’t get much of that kind of help around these here parts.
The lot of us aren’t very good at talking folks out of gear. We have other charms
Only buy another bass if you think you deserve it.
If you learned a new song or managed to play something you were struggling with.
Alrighty then! It’s decided. Take another hit off the bottle and click the buy button at the bottom of your cart.
There may be hell to pay, but not today. Cheers!
Yay- I was good boy! I didn’t buy another bass! That’s the temptation over for another week.
That’s doesn’t make you a good boy sir.
Redemption!
Oh man, I’ve been eyeballing the Gotoh tuners like those for my TMB30…
Do it!

So, I caved in and bought a Harley Benton B-550 QTB for £169 shipped. I can resist anything except temptation, me! I’m gonna re-start B2B too once my 5 string arrives.
Choosing between an acoustic four-string bass and an electric five-string bass can be a personal decision based on your preferences and needs. Here are some factors to consider:
Considering your situation, it seems like the acoustic bass guitar would be more convenient for your current practice setup. Its portability and the ability to play without an amplifier make it a suitable option for practicing in a limited space. You can continue progressing through your B2B course with the acoustic bass and then transition to a five-string electric bass when your budget permits.
Remember, the most important thing is to choose an instrument that inspires you to practice and play regularly. Both options have their own merits, so trust your instincts and go with the one that resonates with you the most.
We’ll, I just bought an electric five string. I have no intention of ever being in a band, so that is not a problem. The idea of the acoustic is just for convenience when practicing. I might still get a 5 string acoustic at a later date, but I’ll see how I get on with the electric first.
I’m at a stage in the learning process where I feel comfortable enough to start again with the extra string, as it’ll mainly be a thumb rest when doing B2B!

That never even occurred to me!
