I was born in Elk City, OK in '51. Lived there for all of 1 month in an Airstream. Moved to Copperas Cove (out of the west gate of Ft. Hood) for 5 years, and then 5 years in Abilene before moving north. I lost the Texas accent but got it back when I went to Basic Training at Ft. Lost In The Woods in southwest Missouri. I called home and they didn’t recognize me. :rofl:
