I’m a guy from Germany who’s not exactly young anymore, and I’m new to this forum.
I have a question about my setup.
Right now, I’m playing my bass through an older guitar amp and listening to the course through my PC speakers or my Logitech G533 Bluetooth headphones.
I’d like to optimize my setup and also practice silently from time to time.
A real bass amp would be great, but I’d like to keep using my headphones. The idea of buying new headphones and having to deal with a cable while practicing bothers me a little.
Is there a way to route the signal from the amp to my PC so I can hear both the course and the amp through my wireless headphones? For example, I have a Real Tone cable from the game Rocksmith.
Can anyone give me a few tips on how to improve my setup on a budget?
Bluetooth headphones will introduce enough lag to make that unusable. It’s great for listening, but terrible when you play a note and then half a second later you hear it.
There are similar devices to this, but I use the Boss Katana Go. It’s a small headphone amp. You plug it directly into the bass, and plug your wired headphones directly into it. It receives bluetooth, so you can stream the lessons over the PC to it, and there will be no lag in your playing as for that part you are directly connected.
Another option if your amp has both an aux-in port and a headphone port, run the audio from the computer to the amp aux-in, and connect wired headphones to the amp.
Which is why the Katana Go is great. Yes, you have wired headphones, but they just go to your bass. It’s wireless to the PC and you can move about freely while holding the bass.
Thanks for the clues. It is true I´m not a big fan of wires, but if it is from the bass amp to my head it does not affect my movement so much. I was affraid I have to deal with an extra cable to the amp or pc. I will take a look at the Katana.
That’s very similar on paper to the Katana:GO. Main differences I see are lack of built-in tuner (IMO not a big deal as I have like 3 others, YMMV), but the addition of the drum machine on the HB which would be very nice for practicing your improv skills. As far as quality of the build construction and software, I have no experience with the HB. There are some others as well, like the Vox AmPlug 3 Bass and the Fender Mustang Micro Plus. Aguilar, Blackstar, Rockman, IK Multimedia, and a bunch of others also make some all at varying price points. I ended up getting the Katana:GO myself, mainly because I also have a Katana Bass 210 amp and some of the custom tone library files can be shared.
Well, you can’t really get away from it, especially if you want to stay on the affordable side of the budget. The lag or Latency will just kill your playing on the normal wireless or bluetooth. the only 2 model of wireless headphone set I’d recommend is the Boss Waza Air Bass or the Spark Neo.
Katana Go is highly recommend. It’s quite awesome. You can also use it for recording on your computer. It comes with a boat load of Boss effects. Later wanna get fancy you can add a wireless pedal switch to it.

I would also add if you can find the Spark 40 for a good price that’s the way to go.
I really like the Spark Neo. Aside from the app taking a break sometimes, the headphones have preset programs that sound good. And bluetooth is the only way to go for me. Quiet for everyone but myself. You can get a DAI for short money and just go through the pc for everything and record if you want to compare your progress.
I have no experience with the Boss Katana so get as much info as you can and be happy with whichever way you go.

Mein Windows 11 PC can pair with it via bluetooth, but I can´t send my sounds to it. In the list of output devices there is no DNAfx. It seems he does not identify it as an audio device / headset.
Bluetooth? No it’s a one way signal. You can send audio to your DNAfx so you can play music track along with your bass. You can not use this as a Bluetooth transmitter. Like I mentioned the only 2 I know and own for instruments are the Spark Neo and Waza Air bass.
