Documentation for the Simplifier Bass Station says it’s based on the Ampeg SVT which is also what everybody says about the SansAmp, but I thought the two sounded very different in the video. I’m interested to hear what y’all think about it.
He goes through all 10 preamps four times. I thought it was very well put together.

The problem here is there are so many various parameters to adjust that getting truly “clean” comparisons is difficult. Read the comments and you can see he made a few errors in settings, unless his goal was to get them all to sound as close as possible.
Here’s a secret….I have no clue what a real SVT or B15N or vintage Bassman or fill in the blank sounds like, so no idea which one is “better”. I just know I like what I hear and then I keep it.
Nice video! I really liked the Fender, Markbass and Orange Butler.
Darkglass VU and EBS sounded really tight as usual. Can’t go wrong with those.
LeBass sounded like crap. Not sure what was going on there??
Simplifier did a good job on all genres. Very clear but not as exciting as the ones I mentioned earlier imo. It’s a very versatile pedal compared to the others tho.
Way too much tube saturation on the low end on the LeBass, needed a filter or cranking down the bass to trim some of that mud. You could kind of hear the same thing with the other tubes like the MarkBass too. Looking at the knobs it looks like they were really cranking the bass and putting in a huge scoop too. I am going with user error on this one.
Gonna go with the VMT Ultra and the VT Bass DI as a tie, with the EBS as a close second. Bassbone was great too!
