I’d like to be able to slap, but I absolutely massacred (what was) module 13.
I’m real good at the percussive part and not so good at also getting a note our of it.

You and me both. Missing achievements?! Hold on…gotta fix that! I must admit I was getting a bit frustrated as I had been moving along quite nicely…until I got to the original Module 13 Slap lessons and felt like a noob all over again. I had been plugging may way through, but skipping most of the fast workouts. Off for a couple days, come back and someone moved my cheese! Now seeing the new format and songs I’m excited to pick things up again and see what’s new! Thanks Josh!

I was already working through it a second time, but this is a great excuse to go back to the beginning again… AND(!!!) there’s a “reset” button! I’m more excited about that than I should be, granted… Gotta go check out the new songs… Looking forward to this! Thanks Josh!

I’m halfway through the course, and everything changed. It looks good, but I’d like to go back and finish with the old videos – the difference is jarring. I didn’t get an option to wait to upgrade as was mentioned above, I just reloaded the video I was on and everything was different. Is there a way to go back to the old videos? A setting somewhere?

I can’t include a link (new forum user), but if you go to Help → Lessons and Playing Questions and click on the “Why are there two versions of the course?” question, the writeup includes a link to the legacy version. Thanks for including access to the legacy version!

the legacy course will always be nostalgic, but this is better in every single way. and it feels illegal to have the bonus masterclasses and tabs for no extra cost

A couple of thoughts overnight:
- If the videos were all re-recorded, I wonder how many of the lesson comments don’t make sense anymore because they were comments on the jokes Josh made in the legacy version of the video
- Could the re-do of the original course mean B2B2: Badass to Badassier actually be in the works?

As far as I know, @JoshFossgreen has a huge team of stand-up comedians that write jokes for him. He just reads from a teleprompter 
So, all jokes will be 100% the same or or slightly improved as they were so good to begin with!

@Shindigo @chriestspam , I made the call to ditch the old Slap module, it’s been replaced with the new Walkups module which is much more relevant to most bass playing.
Slap has been pushed to a brand new Masterclass video that covers all the same fundamentals, so it’s now optional for folks who don’t wanna slap.
That’s the biggest change in the curriculum… but I’ll list the other ones for y’all here -
- Swapped out Higher and Higher (too damn fast!), added in Dreams by Fleetwood Mac
- Swapped out Some Kind of Wonderful for a much better shuffle to learn on (Rock Me Baby - Otis Redding)
- Reoganized Module 5 for a bit less overwhelm
- Labeled Billie Jean as a “benchmark lesson” more officially so people don’t get stuck/flummoxed as much
- Swapped a few other songs in Module 10
- Flipped the first two octave lessons in Module 12 so the difficulty flows better
- Beefed up Module 14 with more groove workouts
- More masterclasses, more gear videos, and 3 new full song lessons!
And a summary of other changes…
- Better graphics (more like recent YT videos)
- More frequent tab/fretboard graphics, popping up earlier in the lessons
- We’re now colorblind friendly, no more red and green mess
- Subtitles, finally!
- Full re-record, re-mix, and re-master of all the playalong tracks
- 50 MORE songs in the song pack
- Better progress tracking, achievements, and lesson bookmarking
- Optional autoplay/autoprogress feature
- Better course extras with references for diatonic chords, sheet music, etc.
- Better haircut
So excited to finally show this to you guys! Been hard at work on this with the team for many months.
