It’s time to get in front of a camera and start sharing your progress. Let’s make this fun and easy-ish You can check out my covers and if you want to collabs on the existing ones just let me know, I have most of the tabs and notations. You get it you practice it then send me the video/ audio and I’ll put it together with my “share”, you can leave the “not too perfect” parts to me.
This is the next step in playing, I can guarantee you that this is the hardest things you’d get to do playing your bass, after cover videos playing in front of the crowds is a cakewalk.
I’m excited to have several members lining up @booker_t , @roddie , @bukbass and @joergkutter Hopefully we’d have something up by the holidays. Now that I’m outting their names,
It doesn’t have to be super hard song, just something to get your feet wet and get going.
Here are some fun ones
Georgia on my mind
This Christmas
Let me let go Faith Hills
@joergkutter let me know if this is correct. Took me a minute for this one,
Lisa never want to be famous (slow)
You got the idea, get off your butt and start practicing I’m hoping to do the same too ha ha. lets get 2027 off like a rocket. My hope for you all is 12 covers a year, unless you are @sunDOG then make that 12 a month.
You’re a beast, Al - I hope you realize this is his “totally-overplaying-blowing-steam-off-because-of-covid-cabin-fever” version
But, man… thanks for the tabs - that’s a mouthful
For covers shared here the important parts are the sound and the hands on the bass. Thus you see quite a few cover faceless videos with close-up view of the hands working the bass.
I’m in. just a bit more time to get organized. I got Audacity/Openvino/FFmpeg library installed and functioning last night. I successfully muted the bass stem. It sounds pretty good thru my monitors. Audio will be easy from here. Video may take a little time. I will give myself a deadline - Oct.19 I should have it ready.
My song is very cool and sooooo easy. I’m keeping it secret for now.
There’s no rush. I work 6 days a week and 3 small kids. This is a long term project, and the fact that you pivot toward making it happen it’s already working.
In addition, the songs I’m doing with @joergkutter will take me at least a couple of days to practice, It’s so ridiculous I have to do it twice. But I’m pushing my limit too.
It’s cheaper than you think. You can record off your phone. Via an interface like JoYo MoMix for like $100 video and audio sync together. I just bought the Roland GoMixer studio off greentoe for almost $90 off at 220. It’s coming tomorrow I’ll keep it posted.
This interests me @Al1885…. My music partner (the other half of SWAMPFOX Music) is a guitar player in Las Vegas who is looking for a better way to record files to send me for mixing…. All he ever uses is his Android phone, and I have to get pretty creative in the mixing department when incorporating his guitar tracks…. This might be the answer..??..
