Cubital tunnel syndrome

Greetings fellow E-to-G pluckers,

I’m having a doctor’s appointment soon because I have this strange shocking feeling coming from my left funny bone and goes to my ring finger (afaik: Cubital Tunnel Syndrome). Not jumping to conclusions, but I have a few questions in advance.

  1. Would a short scale bass help?
  2. Any techniques I could try to adjust my fretting hand?
  3. Any other ideas except for accepting a brace?

Besides playing bass I here and there play on a Steam Deck. Used to play a lot of games, but this is the first time having these elbow issues.

I had that… pretty sure anyway, but not verified by a doctor. I’m convinced it was because I was resting my cubital nerve on the armrest of my truck when I was driving. I started putting a blanket down and tried to avoid direct contact with anything to my nerve. I probably did some nerve flossing as well. It did end up getting completely better within a couple months.
