Curiosity gets the best of me. Are high dollar basses really any different?

THIS is why Marcus Miller approves of his name being on Sire basses.

Sire sure makes quality stuff. Indonesia has really changed the game for midrange instruments in the last five years or so.

Absolutely. It makes a massive difference that Sire owns and operates its own single factory that ensures outstanding quality control in all their builds.

Gotta admit, this V8 bad boy has sparked serious GAS in me.

Yeah. Both Sire and Yamaha have their own factories (recently I think too, Yamaha built theirs in 2017 and I think were previously made in the same one as Sire before they had their own).

Don’t look now, but I believe I have some goodness incoming.

I do love me some Jazz basses.

Woohoo, congrats

Thanks, man. Pitbull Audio is my go-to. 10% discount, free shipping, and no Texas sales tax! Yeah, baby! Those folks make GAS too easy.

We think alike. I watched the video when you put it up and checked Sweetwater and it’s backordered. Sire has none in stock, so I checked Pitbull. I’ve never used them, but the 10% would cover the tax… I’m going to sleep on it. I love the ash, and this would replace the Fender J that was sent back. I shouldn’t hang out with you delinquents.

If you had a new bass you wouldn’t have time to

Pitbull Audio rocks. Straight up. No shit.

I’ve ordered from them many times. Great prices and service. Plus a great return policy if you’re not completely satisfied. Win-win for the win.

Man, you guys! I leave you unattended for a few hours and what do you do? Order basses and entice others to follow along…

But, perhaps, I should keep my trap shut… :joy:

Yeah I can’t talk, just impulse-bought a signature model myself. But back to sanity, now at a nice, clean feeling two instruments

Hee, hee, hee.

$809, delivered? For that quality?! Come on! I can only take so much temptation!

I totally understand  It’s a great price for that instrument… I’d probably get rid of that half-ashtray, but that’s just me…

Having to wait 15 months for a dream bass is more than most men can take

Fear not, the Sire V8 ships WITHOUT the ashtray.

And waiting absolutely sucks the wall, as you know.

Nice! I prefer brunettes, but if I ever wanted a blondie, this look comes pretty close

I’ve got a blonde Sire M5. The quality is shocking. This one offers a lot more upgrades for essentially nothing more expensive. I don’t know how they do it nor do I care. I’m just glad to be in there somewhere.

Thar’s a beauty . And the waiting is the hardest part.

I think pretty much everyone does now. Even Squier. Quite a few brands are made in the Cort factory on contract. The only companies I know of to have their own factories are Yamaha, Sire, and Cort; I think the rest are colocated.
