Curiosity gets the best of me. Are high dollar basses really any different?

Ahh yeah, here we go, I remember this list.

The differences from this I know of now are Yamaha and Sire have their own factories at this point. I have seen a picture of Yamaha’s and have heard of Sire’s.

Apparently they also have a second, newer one in Jakarta. Plus two motorcycle and two jet-ski factories there

Thanks, Wombat.

Judging from past order experiences, Pitbull’s ground shipping from Southern California to Texas is 2-3 days, so I should see it pretty soon.

Just for reference, I only had one bass, an American Standard J bass I got new in 1996. My buddy, who is a touring guitarist, picked it out for me so he checked it all out before shipping it up to me (he was a salesman at the music store as well as a session musician). For my first bass it was pretty much top of the line. I recently picked up a made in China Squire P bass for $175. For the price I figured what the heck. Now while I’m sure the components are no where near as good as my J bass, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality, fit, feel, and sound of the cheap bass. Maybe if I was a traveling session musician I’d feel and hear a difference but I don’t really hear anything bad on it at all.
