Decisions, decisions

I can’t decide on which bass to get…A Japan-only, Spector RAS4(although, made in indonesia like the performer line) which is a anime collab signature model(I don’t watch anime, I just like the bass).

Or a Made in 1988-1990 At Fujigen factory, a Greco BOB-65.

Both basses look cool but I think I would probably need the Greco more because it needs a 9V battery and Active EQ while the Spector is passive(like my other basses). Recommendations? Experiences? Advice? would love to know!

I’ve had two Spectors, sold them both. Really didn’t like how they felt when played and they ended up permanently on my rack.

i’m pretty new to spector. i can’t really imagine a passive spector, but then i couldn’t really imagine a passive stingray either and i own one of them too. spectors appear to be a love it or hate it type of thing, there’s a few people here who didn’t get along with them. personally i love mine (pulse NS II). but man, they really love gold hardware

Wild, looks like “BanG Dream!” is working with Spector too, in addition to ESP? I had no idea.

Absolutely the Fujigen-made Greco.

Whichever one feels better in your hands while you’re playing it…

Same I just did too.

they’re all the way in tokyo…

A fantastic city. Use this as an excuse to visit. Stop by a Nana’s Green Tea location while you’re there for an ice cream. It’ll be fun.

Ice cream pro tip: Ouca Japanese Ice in Ebisu. As a bonus it’s next door to the Sarutahiko Coffee honten.

babish did a vid on youtube recently where he went to tokyo and tried the high end luxury fruit that is a thing there. i have never felt a burning desire to go there, it looks cool but… now i want to go there and eat obscenely expensive melons for breakfast with my wife :joy:

Do it. You’ll love it.

Tokyo is, if not at the top of the heap, certainly top-of-the-heap adjacent on the short list of finest cities in the world. If you want to see an eclectic megalopolis that runs like a well-oiled machine, and be safe walking home at midnight while doing so, it’s a hard place to beat.

There are a cadre of nations that offer retirement visas which enable folks to move there and live on foreign-sourced earnings. Japan is not one of those places. If it was, there is an above-average chance that I would be cooling my heels in Ueno Park right about now.

I can’t wait to visit again.

Great place to live for sure. We expected to be here for a few years and then turn around and it’s been almost 18. I usually describe it as the theme park of what a city could be.

Pretty crowded right now, which is funny because the weather is terrible, as it usually is for hanami.

Seriously there will probably be around a million people in Ueno Koen and around it today. Which is fun… once
